My first day of school and what's it like to be an international student
I am going to write about my first day of school. It may sound boring, but it's actually not. Most of the interesting things happen on the first day of school. I was very nervous about my first day. I had a lot of homework, a lot of things to do, etc. But besides homework, my feeling were crushing and destroying me. I was worrying so much. My parents left the day before the school started. This was one of the main factors why I was depressed. Before I am going to talk about my first school day of 2014, I wanted to share an idea what's it like to be an international student.
First of all, I have already said that I was very upset and depressed when my parents left. If you are an international student, that's what usually happens–you have to live without your parents. It is very hard to understand that now you are going to be the one to take care of yourself, not your mother or your dad. It's not that easy to live by yourself and see you parents maybe 2-3 times a year. But eventually you actually get used to it.
Secondly, when I first arrived in The Webb School, I didn't have friends at all because of my language education level and the different social environment. The first thing that came up to my mind was to go back home! But at the same time I wanted to study in America. And here you go, a huge dilemma between two most important things to me. It is hard to choose. Some of the students choose to go back, but some students choose the knowledge and being away for their own homeland. I couldn't just go back home and say that I was to scared and depressed to be far away form home. I came here with the only one goal–to become an excellent student and to get in the university in USA. So I did everything to forget about my thoughts of going back.
By telling what's it like to be an international student, you can now imagine how did my first day of school go. It wasn't easy, but I got it over with.
I am glad you are back! Andrey, I am certain that your English grammar is better than this. Did you proofread? In future posts, be sure to check your work. Don't be sloppy!!! 16/20
